Εγκαινιάζουμε καινούρια θεματική περιοχή (sic!:P) και έχουμε αντιγράφοντος τον ευατό μου απο το amazon uk:

I found the book to be shallow and academic at the same time. Its mainly has to do with a mostly academic review various aesthetics theories at various ages - given in a simple manner, that is true, but it is unable to grasp or give to the reader the real essence of this theories - they seem quite sterilized of every emotional or logical insight they would offer otherwise.

Furthermore while maintaining that it resolves around the question of what is art, there is no reference e.g. to Dada and other important movements and views which in many ways defined what is art is about today.

The new media part, art in the internet age etc is particularly shallow and shortsighted - interaction and art in the internet are mainly viewed as a tool for interactively viewing different parts of online galleries. No mentioned of the truly interactive capabilities the medium offers or to any other really innovative art forms forming around the internet medium.

In conclusion a book suitable for an art course or a professional "curator" or "artist" but with no capability for any other greater purposes, incapable to give a glimpse to the inner fire that an art work can produce"

οκ ίσως αυστηρά τα παραπάνω αλλά το ζήτημα είναι ότι με το εκδοτικό και μεταφραστικό boom έχει γεμίσει η "αγορά" βιβλία που σε άλλη περίπτωση και άλλη (πιο εκλεκτική) εποχή δεν θα υπήρχε καμία περίπτωση έκδοσης. Όσο για το παραπάνω πολύ επιφανειακό, ίσως έπρεπε να το καταλάβω από το εξώφυλλο:)
